My day started horribly. It was the day of the end of the final exam for the semester, my birthday and potentially the final chance to see my friends until the next year. I was studying the night before until 2 AM to be prepared for the exam. I went to bed and tried to fall asleep. It took me a while to get there. And I woke up around 7 AM and sat in front of the study materials on the desk to review those equations, chemical mechanisms and calculations typed on the piles of papers. My small room has been buried in those white things and there was not even a square centimetres of the area that my desk and the floor was exposed to the air. I literally had to walk on the prints and study the prints (on the prints) to the power of 5. I brushed my teeth and washed my face and was about to have some breakfast. However, it was so abnormal of me that my appetite was gone. A bite of a banana was satisfying more than enough. I felt dizzy and I did something that I don't usually do, looking myself in the mirror. There was a potato face standing in front of the mirror. The skin was brownish pale and did not look healthy that should have had some blood flow beneath it. It was shocking to realise for the first time in 22 years of my life that I was a potato. This was how my 22nd birthday started. After I finished my last exam, I was just soulless. I left the exam room and walked to the library. Although the weather was very nice and surprising it wasn't windy, I was cold and empty. Emma and Airi, my friend from Melbourne just to see me on this day turned up and the moment to see someone who should be somewhere far away standing in front of me with crazy smile on her face was unrealistic, awkward and delightful. It eventually didn't take us long to get back how we used to do shits together back in high school. While we didn't see each other for one and a half years in when there were numerous events that just happened around my life and changed lots of my perspectives about lifestyles, Airi said "You didn't change." These three words to some extent brought me a big relief. The sceneries of the society have been changing constantly and I thought I have been being continuously developed or kept stepping back- and forwards. And I apparently was overwhelmed trying catching up the new updates inside myself every single time by being easily affected by the external environment. Progression and development are important for sure but at the same time it cannot be important as without acknowledging your basic root that doesn't/shouldn't change because it is one of the principles creating yourself. We went to Himatangi Beach once in a while since March. It was super hot and the sun light was stingy. My skin got baked. I was almost getting my soul back in my body but still felt as if my feet swimming in a cloud and my eyes not focusing on a right point. The surface of the ocean sparkled under the sun. Wish I could shine like that but imagined myself being as shiny as the horizon under the same sun, the scientists would come and capture me in their lab to scientifically figure out the mechanism. No thank you, I don't want that. I'm happy with my gloomy potato skin. The party started around 7.30 PM. Our flat got flooded with twenty people. It break the record. I demonstrated in my head so many times before the party starts introducing each person invited but since there were too many of people there and I got super nervous that I could not even organise and give a short nice speech to initiate the party properly. So! I'm going to show off my effort here! Please be patient. Emma: We met when we were in pre-vet. We weren't this close each other since I moved in her flat at the beginning of this year. She took me for tramping for the first time ever in my life and it basically changed my life. Now I'm hooked with it. I have massive amount of stories that I can tell about her but to make it short I would say that Emma is shit! (truly as a complement) Sylvia W.: She was one of the friends I spent lots of time and studied with in my pre-vet time. We have some similar taste of arts and to some extent every time I see Sylvia at uni it makes me so happy no matter how horrible the day was. Sylvia M.: We met for the first time when we did Sledge Track together with Emma. Sylvia is such a sweet and hard-woking person. Super kind as well. We only see each other at uni but I was so glad that she came today for us. Ketan: Ketan is our neighbour living right across the street. His experiences through any kind of jobs he's done so far is limitless. Thank you so much foe helping our us anytime and taking us to the beach or anywhere. Mats: It was Pouakai Circuit when we met for the first time. This trip was composed of about 8 people and surprisingly 6 of us were vegan/vegetarians and Mats was one of us too. Through having a few trips together we found that the pink helmet cyclist we usually see on the street was Mats. Apparently I knew this cool guy since long time ago. Marie: Marie used to live in my room before I moved in. She is a passionate vet that had a photo of herself in National Geographic this year. Super admirable. Eevaylah: I met Eevaylah through Emma and since then she kept invited me for BBQ or dinner parties. She is a rock-climber as well and was the first person taught me how to climb. Is also a vegan and a vet. One of the people with the awesome personality. Hyejin, Nam, Emily, Tom: My lovely flatmates. Nam is a great cook, Emily is very entertaining and smily, Hyejin is always generous and Tom is a crazy tramper (I have never had a "right" tramping with him). Thank you all for making my everyday life something different and fun every night. Amy: We were in the same pre-vet class. I hardly see her at uni but the occasional chat she makes is usually funny. Amy is a great animal lover too. Haijing: Haijing was Emily's friend from high school in Auckland. She takes Japanese paper and I did a bit of tutoring for preparation of the finals. Such a sweet girl and can always make me feel comfortable with her. Louise: We encountered at the beginning of the last semester through our common friend. Although it's not so long, Louise is for sure someone who starts taking up some memory of my life. Super kind and thoughtful. Can't thank her enough for listening to my boring and long talk every single time I see her. I am really grateful for this chance that we brought us becoming friends. Airi: Airi is my old friend since I was in Melbourne for high school back then. She still studies in Melbourne now and it is crazy that she came all the way to Palmy for just this night to see me. I don't know how many times her simple but honest words saved me when I was struggling with final study back in high school. Feel so precious and special for this innocent girl. Thank you for coming from Australia. This is it. There were a few more people who actually turned up for the party and I still feel very delightful thinking back of this night packed with their smiles and laughters. Thank you so much again. I don't know what else I can write. Oh yes, the foods were all amazing. It was bit sad to see none was left in the morning because they were too good to be left over. I'm still lost in the maze called the uni life that I can't get out easily because of some invisible wires tying myself down something called money, time, age, society, blah blah blah... There's no way out to be found yet. I'm pretty sure I was saying exactly the same thing a year ago, but sadly I don't see any improvements myself but just aging. Life is long which is shorter than individuals think. I will still keep wondering around a bit more and grab something hot and potential to me. It is true that I can still stay alive (even with the potato face) because you all stay being my friends. You all are already part of my life. I try not to seek too much but to be a little bit more hopeful, I spoil it here that my dream is to be someone who can influence even just a tiny bit my friends' lives to get them consider about our earth and all the earth-civils no matter where they have their lives a little bit more. So that the world peace won't be too far to come true. Love and Peace for all my friends and my friends' friends, basically everyone all over the world.

It is always my challenge to make the world just a little bit better place for you and me.
(モンベルの愛用の靴と) My flatmate received a post card from Germany. Julia came to stay with us for a few nights as my flatmate's couchsurfer and this is how I met her. The last sentence on the card mentioning my name with her hugs just turned over my boring day into happiness now. Can't help myself to share this lovely moment here. About couchsurfing, I really like it and if there's my friend who is still debating themselves to have a couchsurfing account I will kindly recommend them to do it. It's just because that through couchsurfing the night with the surfers always became a memorable one and sometimes they brought me lots of inspiration. The story of their travel is more than cool to listen to. It's easy to say that I don't care about what happens on he other side of the world because those people who get hurt are not related to me anyways. But I don't believe so. There's always connection between us and we haven't met face to face yet. It might end up without seeing each other but I feel all lives are connected at the bottom of our hears. The world will be absolutely a better place if we all started thinking of each other throughout the world. It might sound silly or childish but I always believe in Love and Peace. Thank you Julia for sending us a postcard xoxo
リクエストしてから一週間以上経つかな、Te Araroa(テアラロア:ニュージーランド最大のロングトレイル)のガイドブックの順番が回ってきた!
Te Araroa is always there. Occupy Library(図書館を占拠せよ)、2011年にアメリカで起こった大規模プロテスト、Occupy Wall Street(ウォールストリートを占拠せよ)から思いつきました。
